SANDAKAN: Sandakan will have a 138-room boutique hotel to complement the growing
tour and travel industry.
To be called Homestead Inn, the hotel owned by Sara-Timur Properties Sdn Bhd, will
be managed by Vale Hospitality Ltd. The hotel which will sit at Sandakan Harbour
Square is expected to be completed in the second half of this year and it will occupy
a strategic corner of the square fronting the sea.
The whole hotel will have Wi-fi facility and all the facilities are to ensure the
comfort if guests.
The deal between Sara-Timur Propetties and Value Hospitality was inked yesterday
at Wisma Perbandaran witnessed by Sandakan Municipal president Yeo Boon Hai.
Value Hospitality is synonymous with its success in managing eight hotels and resorts
Value Hospitality Group general manager Dennis Tan said that the company was proud
to be appointed as the management company of Homestead Inn.
“With 17 years experience and a good track record in the hospitality business, we
are confident of turning Homestead Inn into a top hotel of its class,” he said.
He said the strategic location of Homestead Inn would attract guests of Sandakan
to stay in the hotel.
Meanwhile Sara-Timur Properties managing director John Loi said Sandakan would have
a bright future in the tourism industry.
“There has been fast paced development in the district especially the Sandakan Harbout
Square,” he said adding that the company found that by investing in the hospitality
industry the company would reap long term benefits.
